Our Work

We believe that the best option to protect our food supplies, environment, health and wellbeing is to use organic growing methods. These harness the natural cycles and processes that promote plant growth.

Our education programmes help teachers and school professionals to develop gardening projects that teach children where their food comes from, develop their scientific and environmental awareness and encourage them to eat more fruit and vegetables.

Since 1958, Garden Organic has worked to protect the rich, interdependent, diverse life that makes up our gardens and growing spaces.

Important visitor information Garden Organic has recently completed a sale of its Ryton Gardens site to our key tenant and long-term partner Coventry University. As part of this change Garden Organic will be creating a new demonstration garden, set to open in spring 2021, with our current gardens closing on Monday 30th September 2019. Our Heritage Seed Library, works tirelessly to conserve the UK's vegetable heritage, protecting our rich organic diversity for future generations. We undertake targeted activities to encourage seed conservation.

Gardening and growing is good for us all. It is good for our physical and mental health, for reducing stress and helping to tackle challenging behaviour. It can also help to build confidence and develop a range of employability skills.

Garden Organic conducts research in partnership with Coventry University's Centre for Agroecology Water and Resiliance (CAWR), both for the amateur and professional.
