Letchworth Organic Gardeners Spring Event 2022
Letchworth Organic Gardeners welcome you to their annual fundraising spring event 2022 - Are you good at composting?
Our very own Waste Reduction Projects Coordinator, Rob Whitehouse, will be delivering a talk on 'how to reduce food waste by composting' at the event.
Rob Whitehouse has been the Waste Reduction Projects Coordinator for Garden Organic since 2017. He directly coordinates two Council-funded waste reduction projects in Staffordshire and East & North Hertfordshire to reduce household waste by recruiting, training and coordinating a team of passionate volunteers to engage with their communities. In addition to this, he often supports Garden Organic's Master Composter volunteer projects around the country, delivers composting and food waste training to a range of audiences, and supports the charity's broader sustainability engagement plan.
I enjoy having the opportunity to work with and support so many passionate and knowledgeable individuals to really make a difference in their communities.
The 'how to reduce food waste by composting' talk looks at how much of an issue food waste is and how we can all reduce our food waste at home to save money and save the planet. This includes behavioural changes and utilising new technologies, Rob will also explore composting at home - what it is, why we should all do it and how to compost successfully.
Letchworth Organic Gardeners will have plant stalls, light refreshments such as cake and tea, as well as a raffle on the day - so be sure to attend if you are in the area.
